There are two main types of education: formal and informal education. Formal education can further be divided into preschool education, primary school, secondary school education and tertiary education and students start from preschool and progress until they graduate from high school or tertiary institutions. The mode of teaching in formal education is also defined and includes theoretical as well as practical approaches such as science workshops for primary schools.

What is e-learning?

E-learning is a system of learning where education is acquired through the internet. Instructions, reading materials, assignments and projects are sent to a depository from where students access them. Videos can bee used to teach while students can hold discussions through chat, video conferencing and video calls. E-learning enhances access to education from a wide range of resources. Students do not need to be in a central region in order to access education and this has reduced the costs associated with acquiring education especially at the tertiary level. E-learning also gives individuals the opportunity to study and work, which has increased pursuit of higher education among different categories of workers.
